Job summary

Talentify seeks a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to ensure a great patient experience by preparing patients for onsite and remote examinations, performing pre-exam tests, and explaining each step of the process.

You will liaise between patients and Optometrists, support in-store and remote eye exams, document results, and help transition patients to a retail associate with care plan recommendations. Strong empathy and communication are essential for insurance handling and scheduling.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience in optical or healthcare settings.
• HS diploma or GED; medical office professionalism preferred.
• Willingness to travel to multiple locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient registration and collect pertinent information including Medical History and Ocular Health data into EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with patient care and eye examinations, and explain preliminary testing to patients while documenting results in EMR.
• Support remote eye exams by initiating pre-testing, remote video conferences, and coordinating additional testing as needed.
• Transition patients to a retail associate after exams with clear doctor recommendations.
• Understand MVC plans and explain plan benefits to patients.
• Preauthorize insurance following standard procedures and help schedule appointments with no-shows and cancellations.
