Job summary

Big City Optical is seeking an Optician to join our team in Chicago to support preeminent eye care. You will fit, measure, and adjust frames, working with the optometrist to match lenses to patient needs and lifestyle.

The role emphasizes patient service, knowledge of eyewear options, and collaboration with store staff. Prior experience is helpful but not required; strong communication and a team mindset are valued.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience preferred, not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-examination assessments of patients.
• Work with the optometrist to understand and deliver patient vision requirements.
• Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that suit prescription needs and lifestyle.
• Accurately measure and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses.
• Educate patients on lens options and benefits to aid decisions.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of eyewear trends and lens technology.
• Monitor orders and update patients on delays.
• Perform administrative tasks related to patient records and store operations.
