Job summary

Big City Optical is seeking an Optician in Chicago to support eye care for patients. You will work with the optometrist to meet vision needs, help select frames and lenses, and ensure proper fitting and adjustments for comfort and usability.

The role emphasizes patient education, up-to-date eyewear knowledge, and reliable teamwork within a busy store environment, including some travel to cover other locations as needed.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience preferred, not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to other locations if needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-examination assessments of patients.
• Work closely with the optometrist to understand vision requirements.
• Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that suit prescriptions and lifestyle.
• Accurately measure and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses for comfort and vision.
• Educate patients on lens options, features, and benefits.
