Job summary

Sabates Eye Centers is seeking an experienced Optician to dispense and fit glasses and contacts based on doctor prescriptions. You will interact with patients, verify insurance, and assist in selecting frames while maintaining high customer service standards.

The position requires an active Optician license (ABO/ABOC/NCLE preferred) and at least one year of customer-facing experience. This on-site role offers a full benefits package and opportunities for certification reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret insurance forms.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• HIPAA compliance with PHI policies.
• Background check required; proof of identity & right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Promote frames and lenses recommended by the doctor to meet patient needs.
• Adjust and repair glasses.
• Verify medical and vision insurances.
• Effectively communicate with patients, doctors, and managers.
• Answer inquiries through phone, email, and in person requests.
