Job summary

AEG Vision in Humble, TX seeks an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will help patients choose frames and lenses that fit prescriptions, lifestyle, and personal style, ensuring proper fit and accurate lens dispensing.

You will interpret prescriptions, input data into the EHR/ALE systems, explain insurance benefits, and guide patients on frame options, coatings, and warranties to build trust and repeat visits.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, experience with sales preferred.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary patient experience; explains customized product recommendations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and accessories based on prescription, lifestyle, and personal style.
• Take and verify prescriptions, ensure proper measurements and frame fit.
• Enter prescription information into EHR and ALE systems; update patient charts.
• Explain insurance benefits, copays, and eligibility; handle authorizations as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the practice and displays.
• Coordinate with technicians and managers; escalate issues when needed.
