Job summary

EyeCare Partners is seeking an Optical Technician in Alabama to dispense and fit glasses and contacts based on prescriptions from Optometrists and Ophthalmologists, while delivering a world-class Total Patient Experience that supports retail sales and medical needs.

You will assist patients in frame selection, operate lensometers, take precise measurements, and dispense orders. Benefits include full medical, 401k, PTO, maternity leave, and certification reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in a customer-facing role.
• Previous ophthalmic experience strongly preferred.
• Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States.
• ABO and NCLE certifications preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and deliver our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with patients while providing medical support.
• Assist patients in selecting frames based on style, color, and prescriptions.
• Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings, and frames to suit patient needs.
• Collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and pantoscopic tilt.
• Dispense orders and adjust frames as needed.
• Dispense glasses and/or contact lens orders using current process.
