Job summary

EyeCare Partners in Middletown, NJ is seeking an Optical Technician to deliver a world-class Total Patient Experience while supporting medical needs. You will dispense and fit glasses and contacts from optometrist prescriptions, connecting patient needs to the goods and services offered.

The role requires assisting in frame selection, operating lensometry equipment, and collecting measurements such as PD and bridge size.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year in a role interacting with customers/patients or equivalent.
• Background check as required by state.
• Proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with patients while delivering medical support.
• Determine patient wants and needs and sell to exceed expectations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames per style and color, coordinating frames with facial measurements and prescriptions.
• Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings and frames to suit patient needs.
• Collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and pantoscopic tilt.
• Dispense orders and repair/adjust patient frames.
• Dispense glasses and/or contact lens orders using current process.
