Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare in Lake St. Louis, MO is seeking a Part-Time Optical Technician to dispense and fit glasses and contacts, supporting Optometrists and Ophthalmologists.

You will use prescriptions and measurements to match patients with the right eyewear while delivering a world-class Total Patient Experience. Duties include assisting with frame selection, operating lensometry equipment, educating patients on lenses and coatings, and keeping the office clean and stocked.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication and patient service skills.
• Able to read and interpret basic insurance forms and documents.
• HIPAA compliance knowledge and ability to protect PHI.
• Eye-care related experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Embrace Total Patient Experience to build relationships with patients.
• Determine patient wants/needs and guide eyewear selection.
• Assist in frame selection based on style and measurements.
• Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate on lenses, coatings, and frames for patient needs.
• Collect measurements (PD, bridge, eye size, etc.).
• Dispense orders and repair/adjust frames.
• Maintain organized, stocked work area.
• Follow office policies and assist with other duties.
