Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare is seeking an Optical Technician in Ballwin, MO to dispense glasses and contacts, assist with frame selection and measurements, and support patients' medical needs. You will operate precision tools and ensure accurate documentation while delivering Total Patient Experience.

Successful candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, ABO/ABOC/NCLE certifications (preferred) and healthcare experience; the role requires strong communication and privacy compliance in a team

Qualifications

• Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• HIPAA compliance and privacy knowledge.
• Ability to read and interpret insurance forms and safety manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Total Patient Experience to build relationships while providing medical support.
• Assist patients in selecting frames based on style, color, measurements and prescriptions.
• Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings and frames to meet patient needs.
• Collect measurements (bridge, eye size, PD, pantoscopic tilt) accurately.
• Dispense orders and repair frames; dispense glasses/contacts in the system.
• Maintain organized, stocked work areas and follow all policies.
