Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare in Chesterfield, MO seeks an Eyewear Associate (Optical Technician) to dispense and fit glasses and contacts, interpret prescriptions from Optometrists/Ophthalmologists, and assist patients in frame selection.

The role focuses on delivering a world-class Total Patient Experience with accurate measurements and guidance on lens options, coatings, and inventory. High school diploma required; ABO/ABOC/NCLE preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in a role interacting with customers/patients.
• ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute the Total Patient Experience to build relationships with patients while delivering medical support.
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and measurements.
• Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer; dispense glasses and contacts.
• Educate on lenses, coatings and frames to suit needs; ensure accuracy of measurements.
