Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare in Overland, MO seeks an Optical Technician to dispense and fit glasses and contacts. Work with prescriptions written by Optometrists and Ophthalmologists to connect patient needs with products.

Responsibilities include assisting in frame selection, operating lenses equipment, and educating patients on lenses and coatings. A strong focus on HIPAA compliance and quality customer service is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; ophthalmic experience preferred.
• ABO/ABOC/NCLE certifications preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and interpret insurance forms and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute the Total Patient Experience to build relationships with patients while delivering medical support.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, coordinating frames with measurements and prescriptions.
• Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer, dispense orders and adjust frames.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings and frames to suit patient needs.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and support general office duties as needed.
