Job summary

EyeCare Partners in Ballwin, MO is seeking an Optical Technician (Optician) to dispense and fit glasses and contacts from optometrist/ophthalmologist prescriptions. You will connect patient needs to frames, lenses, and services in a fast-paced retail-eye care setting.

The role requires excellent communication, accurate measurements, proficiency with lensometry, and knowledge of insurance forms. ABO/ABOC and NCLE preferred; MS Office skills used daily; full benefits and 401k provided.

Qualifications

• Communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Ability to read, interpret insurance forms and safety docs.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• HIPAA compliance per company policy.
• Background check as required by state.
• Proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute the Total Patient Experience to build relationships with patients while delivering medical support.
• Determine patients' wants and needs and sell to exceed expectations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and measurements.
• Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings, and frames to suit patient needs.
• Dispense glasses/contacts orders and maintain inventory.
