Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare in Breese, IL seeks an Optical Technician to dispense glasses and contacts per ophthalmic prescriptions. You will assist patients in selecting frames, measure accurately and operate lensometry equipment while delivering a world-class Total Patient Experience.

The role requires good communication, HIPAA compliance and strong customer service in a medical setting, with full benefits and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with customer/patient interaction experience.
• Ability to read and interpret insurance forms, safety rules and procedures.
• HIPAA compliance and ability to protect patient information per policies.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Embrace Total Patient Experience to build relationships with patients while delivering medical support.
• Determine patient needs and sell to exceed expectations; assist with frame selection.
• Operate auto-lensometer and lensometer; educate on lenses and frames.
• Accurately collect measurements (bridge, eye size, temple length, pupillary distance).
• Dispense glasses and contact lens orders; maintain inventory and cleanliness.
