Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare in Mehlville, MO is seeking an Optical Technician to dispense glasses and contacts, matching patient prescriptions written by Optometrists and Ophthalmologists. You will help patients select frames and ensure accurate measurements while supporting the retail customer experience.

The role requires strong communication skills, HIPAA compliance, and willingness to work full-time hours in a busy eye care office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with patients while delivering great medical support.
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color.
• Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings, and frames to suit patient needs.
• Collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, pupil distance.
