Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare in Overland, MO is seeking an Optical Technician to dispense and fit glasses and contacts under optometrist prescriptions, assisting patients with frame choices and measurements to ensure a superior Total Patient Experience. You will operate lensometry equipment, educate patients on lenses and coatings, and maintain organized, compliant front-office workflows in a busy optical setting.

A high school diploma and customer service experience are required; ABO/ABOC/NCLE credentials

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year in a role interacting with customers/patients.
• Previous medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience preferred.
• ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications (or obtained within first 2 years) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute the Total Patient Experience to build relationships with patients while delivering medical support.
• Determine patients' wants and needs and sell to exceed expectations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and facial measurements and prescriptions.
• Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings and frames to suit patient needs.
