Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare in Columbia, MO is seeking an Optical Technician (Optician) to dispense and fit glasses and contacts, working from ophthalmic prescriptions. You will help patients select frames, take precise measurements, and ensure a world-class Total Patient Experience while supporting medical needs.

You will operate the auto-lensometer and lensometer, educate patients on lenses and coatings, maintain inventory, and collaborate with Optometrists for patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; customer-facing experience preferred.
• Experience in medical/ophthalmic setting preferred.
• ABO/ABOC/NCLE certifications preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide Total Patient Experience and engage with patients.
• Assist in frame selection based on style and measurements.
• Operate auto-lensometer and lensometer.
• Educate on lenses, coatings and frames.
• Take measurements (PD, bridge, eye size, etc.).
• Dispense glasses/contacts orders in the system.
• Maintain inventory and keep areas organized.
• Follow policies and assist with other duties.
