Job summary

Sam's Club is seeking an Optical Associate to help stock and present eyewear, assist members in purchasing decisions, and manage orders and repairs. You will measure pupillary distance, perform frame adjustments, and process POS transactions while upholding high service standards.

The role emphasizes knowledge of eyewear materials, lens types, and safe handling of prescriptions. Prior retail or health care experience is a plus; ABO certification within 15 months is expected where required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Willingness and ability to obtain ABO certification within 15 months of hire.
• State requirements for optician licensure/apprenticeship as applicable.
• Experience in health care or retail setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Stock and present optical merchandise, manage displays and signage.
• Assist members with eyewear purchases, measurements, orders, and repairs.
• Measure pupillary distance and frame positioning; perform adjustments.
• Process sales, returns, and payments via POS; educate members on products.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain records; coordinate with labs/ODs as needed.
