Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an Optical network engineer for the IntraDC team in Cupertino, CA. You will help design, operate, and optimize one of the world's largest optical networks, collaborating with vendors and internal teams to deliver scalable, reliable interconnect solutions for AWS services.

Responsibilities include evaluating new hardware/software features, developing test plans for optical modules, automating tests, and tracking production metrics to improve quality and reduce

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or equivalent.
• 1+ years of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment experience.
• 1+ years of experience with optical systems, optical transcribers and transmission systems.
• 1+ years of experience developing test scripts for optics validation and characterization.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with vendors/manufacturers to evaluate new hardware and software features and come up with implementation plans for incorporating them into the network.
• Collaborate with vendors/manufactures in defining and developing test plan for Optical Modules.
• Automate optical test plans and qualify optical modules.
• Work with network operations team in identifying operation issues and improving quality and RMA process.
• Develop and track metrics around data collected from the production fleet
