Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks an Optical Network Development Engineer to design, build, deploy and scale AWS network infrastructure across global data centers.

You will join the Core Networking team and own end-to-end networking solutions that balance efficiency, performance, and reliability for AWS customers. The role requires strong Linux/Unix experience, extensive routing protocol knowledge, and hands-on automation skills.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience.
• 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience.
• 3+ years of work in large-scale networking environments experience.
• Experience with programming/scripting and automation; experience with version control.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with vendors/manufacturers to evaluate new hardware and software features. Create implementations plans for incorporating them into the network.
• Automate optical test plans and qualify optical modules.
• Collaborate with vendors/manufactures in defining and developing test plans for Optical Modules.
• Work with network operations to identify operation issues and improve RMA process.
