Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Seattle seeks an Optical Network Engineer to drive scaling and deployment of AWS’s Dedicated Cloud (ADC) networks.

You will lead design, implement automation, and support 24/7 operations across global data centers, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure networking solutions. The role requires strong IP networking fundamentals and experience with optical protocols, plus eligibility for security clearance as part of AWS infrastructure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Strong knowledge of IP networking fundamentals.
• Experience with optical protocols and optical network deployments.
• Ability to troubleshoot large-scale networks and support 24/7 operations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and deliver optical scaling and network build projects for ADC regions.
• Review high/low level designs and BOMs; define scaling strategy.
• Work on automation frameworks to reduce manual operations.
• Support 24/7 on-call rotation and on-site critical events.
• Collaborate with Network/Systems/Software teams for rapid rollouts.
