Job summary

Walman Optical in Kent, WA seeks a Production Technician to set up, operate, and maintain lab equipment in the surface or finish areas of production. You will perform lens product inspection using the Lensometer and translate Rx requirements into finished products with supervisor support.

The role requires 3+ years in a lab setting, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, basic math skills, and the capacity to lift up to 50 pounds while maintaining safety and clean work areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of laboratory work experience.
• Ability to multi-task, detail-oriented and operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills at a high school level.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities including close and color vision.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and perform basic maintenance of equipment in the assigned lab area.
• Perform lens product inspection using the Lensometer according to basic lens power requirements.
• Interpret special Rx requirements with supervisor guidance and translate Rx into finished product.
• Troubleshoot production problems and communicate issues and solutions to supervisor.
• Maintain shop supply inventories and keep work areas clean and organized.
• Provide training, direction and guidance to less experienced staff as needed.
