Job summary

Walman Optical is seeking a Production Technician to handle setup, operation, and maintenance of lab production equipment. You will perform lens inspection using Lensometer, interpret Rx requirements, and assist in inventory control to keep production flowing smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of laboratory work experience.
• Ability to multi-task, orient to detail and operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic high school level math skills required.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities including close and color vision.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain equipment in lab production.
• Inspect lenses with a Lensometer per basic power requirements.
• Interpret Special Rx's with supervisor assistance.
• Translate Rx requirements into finished product for production area.
• Maintain shop supply inventories and assist supervisor.
• Troubleshoot production problems to reduce spoilage and delays.
• Calibrate equipment daily, weekly, and quarterly and keep logs.
• Communicate with all lab levels to ensure policy compliance.
• Keep work areas tidy and safe, maintaining confidentiality.
• Provide training and guidance to less experienced staff.
