Job summary

Walman Optical in Brooklyn Park, MN is seeking a Production Technician for 2nd shift to set up, operate, and maintain lab equipment in surface or finish areas. You will use the Lensometer for lens inspections and interpret Rx requirements with supervisor support.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years of lab experience, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and the physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds; color vision is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of laboratory work experience.

• Basic math skills.

• Specific vision abilities including color vision.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain equipment in the lab area.
• Perform lens inspection using Lensometer per basic power requirements.
• Interpret Special Rx’s with supervisor assistance.
• Translate Rx requirements into finished product for production area.
• Assist supervisor with shop supply inventories.
• Troubleshoot production problems and advise supervisor on solutions.
