Job summary

Eyehealth-Northwest- in Portland is seeking a lab technician responsible for the production, fabrication and finishing of optical lenses into frames. You will repair and adjust damaged lenses and frames, and ensure world-class customer service to patients.

You will operate cutting, polishing, grinding, or coating machines, mount lenses, calibrate equipment, keep the lab clean, and coordinate with opticians and front office staff.

Qualifications

• Must possess basic math skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of optical terminology.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Detail oriented with ability to follow through on the completion of work with quality results.
• Flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to use precision tools as required to perform the functions of the job.

Responsibilities

• Produce, fabricate and finish optical lenses into frames.
• Repair and adjust damaged lenses and frames.
• Mount and secure lens blanks in holding tools or chucks of cutting, polishing, grinding, or coating machines.
• Maintain a clean and orderly lab environment.
• Coordinate work with opticians and front office staff for timely, accurate services.
• Perform calibrations and tests for each machine and monitor automated machinery.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA and company policies.
• Assist with training and orientation of other practice employees.
