Job summary

Shopko Optical is seeking a General Manager - Bench in Saint Cloud, MN to lead our optical team, drive sales and patient care, and partner with an Optometrist to achieve business goals. This role focuses on staffing, coaching, and delivering excellent customer service.

You will oversee merchandising, operations, and financial performance while ensuring compliance and effective communication across the team. Strong leadership and clinical knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• 3 years of leadership experience or equivalent management experience with strong customer service focus (preferably in optical or retail)
• ABO/Shopko OCE Certification required within 12 months of hire/promotion
• Solid organizational and planning skills
• Able to analyze financial data and drive improvements
• Proven ability to lead, coach and build relationships in a professional environment

Responsibilities

• Lead team to maximize sales, profit and customer service objectives and supervise optical operations
• Work with Optometrist to drive patient care and business results
• Hire, train, coach and manage performance of team
• Ensure store compliance with HR policies and federal/state laws
• Communicate company initiatives and processes to the team
• Open/close store and manage key-carrier responsibilities including cash office and alarm response
