Job summary

VSP Vision is seeking a full-time Optical Office Assistant for Optical Outlets in Ocala, FL. The role supports patients and assists the Doctor and Office Manager to ensure excellent patient flow.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, verifying insurance, checking in patients, and aiding in dispensing eyewear, with emphasis on accuracy and exceptional service in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in related field
• Working knowledge of MS Office package
• Effective verbal communication to prioritize multiple tasks and handle inquiries
• Effective written communication to document patient visits
• Excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills
• Ability to ask appropriate questions to identify patient needs
• Ability to listen and interact with patients in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Attract and retain customers by providing unsurpassed customer service.
• Greet customers and explain the process and exam pricing transparently.
• Check-in and pretest patients efficiently and accurately.
• Verify insurance coverage prior to Doctor encounter.
• Answer phones properly and in a timely manner.
• Assist in dispensing eyewear as needed.
• Serve as a center of excellence for others with focus on Right the First Time patient satisfaction.
• Assist with adjusting or fitting eyewear carefully and accurately.
• Inform Office Manager of any office problems noted by staff, doctors, or patients.
• Perform all tasks assigned by Office Manager.
