Walman Optical in Indianapolis, IN, seeks a full-time Customer Service Representative (Order Clerk) to manage quotes, orders, returns and purchases, and coordinate with vendors and departments to provide top-tier service.

The role requires 1+ year in customer service, outstanding phone etiquette, clear written and spoken communication, plus basic MS Office skills and the ability to lift up to 40 lb. You’ll also assist with monthly auto-kit mailings and help maintain customer lists.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in customer service, hospitality or call center environment.
• Excellent telephone etiquette and ability to maintain composure with difficult customers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel).
• Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Receive requests for price quotations, orders, changes, adjustments, and cancellations from customers and labs.
• Build and maintain rapport with customers to provide the best possible service.
• Sort, clean, and repackage overstock/defective lenses, frames and accessories for vendor returns; generate return documentation.
• Assist in organizing monthly auto-kit mailings and maintain mailing lists for participating accounts.
• Use a PC to retrieve and update customer information, stock status, and order details; ensure accurate data entry.
• Coordinate with vendors and departments for order status, quotations and delivery information.
• Troubleshoot problems and communicate policies, promotions, and procedures.
• Maintain a neat, organized work area and support cross-training within the department.
