Job summary

AEG Vision in Arizona is seeking an Optical Consultant to work with Optometrists to support patient care and education, ensuring exceptional experiences.

You may perform preliminary evaluations, interview patients, schedule referrals, maintain HIPAA compliant records, handle inquiries, and assist with diagnostic testing and clerical duties. This on-site, part-time position offers benefits such as 401(k) matching and PTO.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Strong attention to details and ability to work under pressure.
• Proficiency with MS Office and general PC skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Interviews patient before visit to determine issues for the Optometrist.
• Schedule referrals and complete necessary paperwork.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and policy.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatments.
• May perform diagnostic testing with specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, etc.).
• Document findings in EHR and assist with medical documentation.
• Ensure maximum schedule utilization through pre- and post-appointment actions.
• Assist with contact lens insertion/removal and inventory management.
• End-of-day wrap-up and keep the practice area clean and organized.
• May act as a scribe or assist with refractions.
