Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optical Consultant to support optometrists and deliver exceptional patient care. You will perform preliminary evaluations, document findings in the EHR, and help manage referrals and clerical duties.

The role emphasizes accuracy, patient communication, and teamwork in a fast-paced setting. You will work on-site with a focus on delivering high-quality eye care, operating diagnostic equipment, and supporting the practice’s daily operations.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.
• PC skills including MS Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively and professionally collaborate with co-workers and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary patient evaluations prior to exam (dilation, topical meds, diagnostic tests).
• Record and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and policies.
• Schedule referrals and complete related paperwork as needed.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and care with Optometrist guidance.
• Operates diagnostic equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Retinal Camera) as required.
• Assist with scribe duties and clerk tasks in the practice.
