Job summary

AEG Vision in Arizona is seeking an Optical Consultant to support optometrists and enhance patient education and care. You will perform preliminary evaluations, collect medical histories, and help manage referrals and scheduling to ensure a smooth patient flow.

Responsibilities include documenting findings in EHR, assisting with exams as needed, and providing contact lens instruction and inventory management. This role is on-site and part-time with benefits for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• Strong attention to the details and ability to work under pressure in fast paced environment.
• PC skills to include MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively and professionally collaborate with co-workers and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary patient evaluations prior to exams, including tests and measurements.
• Interview patients to identify medical issues and inform the Optometrist.
• Schedule referrals and complete related paperwork.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and other policies.
• Assist with documentation in Electronic Health Records and clerical tasks.
• Manage scheduling, recalls, and follow-ups to optimize appointments.
• Conduct contact lens insertion/removal instruction and manage inventory.
• Support the Optometrist as a scribe or assist with refractions as needed.
