Medical Eyeglass Center in Saraland, AL is seeking an Optical Associate to join our team inside a medical office setting. You’ll assist patients from eyewear selection to fitting, manage orders in MEC’s POS, and coordinate with clinic staff to ensure a smooth patient experience.

You’ll use your optical knowledge and customer service skills to review prescriptions, track insurance claims, and maintain accurate records. Training provided, career growth potential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 6 months of experience in optical.
• Ability to read prescriptions and insurance eligibility checks.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when filling prescriptions.
• Experience with optical lab processes and lens types is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide patients with an outstanding eyewear experience from selection to fitting.
• Process and complete orders through MEC’s POS systems.
• Maintain detailed records of prescriptions, orders, payments, and insurance claims.
• Review and track lab orders to ensure timely completion.
• Submit insurance claims and post payments; follow up on receivables.
• Dispense prescription eyewear and offer adjustments and repairs.
• Maintain inventory and keep displays organized and stocked.
• Assist with insurance eligibility checks and authorizations.
