Job summary

Walmart in Portage, MI is seeking an Optical Associate to maintain the Optical area, stock merchandise, assist members with eyewear purchases, and ensure accurate pricing and signing of products.

You will measure pupillary distance, perform frame adjustments, process eyewear orders, and handle payments. ABO certification must be obtained within 15 months of hire in compliance with state regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent within 12 months of hire to sit for ABO exam.
• Must obtain ABO certification within 15 months of hire.
• Meet state licensure/apprentice requirements within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Stock and merchandise presentation in the Optical area and process claims/returns.
• Assist members with eyewear purchases, measurements, and repairs.
• Process eyewear and contact lens orders; handle payments and insurance claims.
• Operate POS; manage exchanges, refunds, and varying membership types.
• Coordinate with labs/optometrists and ensure proper paperwork and calibration.
