Job summary

Walmart Chandler is seeking an Optician/Associate to maintain the Optical area, stock merchandise, and assist members with eyewear purchases. You will measure pupillary distance, adjust frames, process eyewear and contact lens orders, and handle payments using the POS system.

The role includes communicating with labs/optometrists, performing basic equipment calibration, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and store policies. A strong customer focus and ABO certification are required.

Qualifications

• ABO certification and state licensure requirements to practice as an optician.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent as minimum education.
• Licensure within the required time frame after hire.

Responsibilities

• Stock and stock merchandise in the Optical area, sign and price items, and handle returns.
• Assist members with eyewear decisions, measure pupillary distance, adjust frames, and process orders.
• Operate POS and manage payments, returns, and exchanges per membership types.
• Coordinate with labs and optometrists on product updates and status.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Active ABO certification

State licensure within 18 months
