Job summary

Sam's Club in Humble, TX is seeking an Optical Associate to maintain merchandise presentation, stock displays, and assist with eyewear and contact lens orders. You will cashier, process payments, and help members with purchases, repairs, and care instructions.

Responsibilities include measuring pupillary distance, conducting final eyewear inspections, coordinating with labs and optometrists, and keeping the Optical area organized and compliant with company policies and HIPAA requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Willingness to obtain ABO certification within 15 months of hire.
• Must meet state licensure requirements to become an apprentice/optician and licensure within specified timeframes.
• Preferred experience in health care or retail settings.

Responsibilities

• Stock and organize Optical displays and merchandise.
• Process member purchases and payments through the POS system.
• Assist with eyewear orders, adjustments, repairs, and measuring pupillary distance.
• Educate members on eyewear usage and care and support contact lens guidance.
• Coordinate with labs and optometrists on orders and product status.
