Job summary

Sam's Club is seeking an Optical Associate in Tomball, TX to assist members with eyewear purchases, measure pupillary distance, adjust frames, and process eyewear and contact lens orders. You will operate the POS system, verify prescriptions, and coordinate with labs and optometrists to ensure product quality and timely delivery.

Daily duties include inventory handling, pricing and signage, and providing excellent member service while adhering to HIPAA and company policies.

Qualifications

• Active ABO certification; maintain CE requirements.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Must obtain state optician licensure within 18 months of hire; maintain NPI registration where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in eyewear selection, measurements, and repairs.
• Process optical orders; calibrate equipment; verify prescriptions.
• Handle payments, returns, and insurance claims where applicable.
• Maintain and inspect eyewear; ensure accuracy of pupillary distance and prism verification.
