Job summary

Walmart Sam's Club in Austin, TX is seeking an Optical Associate, Non-Certified to stock the Optical area, assist members with eyewear purchases, and process eyewear and contact lens orders. You will measure pupillary distance and perform frame adjustments, while maintaining HIPAA-compliant records.

ABO certification is required within 15 months of hire; a High School diploma or GED is required. This is a full-time position with shifts that may vary, located at Sam's Club #6188 in Austin.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; ABO certification within 15 months of hire.
• Willingness and ability to work with Manager to register and maintain own NPI number as required by state law.
• Must obtain state-required optician licensure within 18 months of hire or job entry for full-time associates.

Responsibilities

• Stock and merchandise the Optical area; set up displays, price items, and handle damaged goods.
• Assist members with eyewear purchases, measure pupillary distance, and perform basic frame adjustments and repairs.
• Process optical eyewear and contact lens orders; handle sales, returns, and lab communications as needed.
• Schedule and conduct patient appointments under supervision and support OD services.
