Job summary

CarMax Westborough is seeking an Operations Manager in Training to lead the Service Operations Department at one or more locations. This structured development program provides leadership skills through CarMax's Senior Management Development Program, covering inventory, cosmetic and mechanical repair, and end-to-end production processes.

You will collaborate with Sales, Business Office, and Purchasing teams to deliver an exceptional customer and associate experience.

Qualifications

• Interpret and maintain accurate data records.
• Completion of CarMax-provided training in Inventory, Cosmetic, and Production processes.
• Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to make independent, critical business decisions.
• Proven ability to lead leaders, manage complex operations, and balance priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• 3+ years of management experience, retail management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Senior Manager on the store leadership team, providing strategic leadership across Service Operations.
• Directly and indirectly lead multiple managers and a large frontline workforce with staffing and development responsibilities.
• Own operational execution through KPIs, production capacity, quality, cycle time, and cost controls with data-driven improvements.
• Maintain full financial accountability, including P&L ownership and labor optimization.
• Champion process improvements and ensure adherence to CarMax standards.
• Oversee Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) programs for the department and location.
