Job summary

Arizona Public Service (APS) is seeking a Supervisor of Operations and Maintenance to lead project leaders and their teams, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and APS priorities for reliable infrastructure. This role acts as a technical consultant and collaborates with cross-functional groups to support safe, reliable operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 7 years of experience in design, engineering, construction, operations, and/or maintenance of transmission and distribution electrical facilities.
• Journeyman with four-year electrical apprenticeship plus 3 years in related fields.
• Must reside within the assigned area and be able to commute to work sites, including emergent work at nights and weekends.
• Preferred: strong leadership, knowledge of utility operations, safety standards, IBEW contract and regulations.
• Excellent project management, business planning and negotiating skills.

• Communicate overall direction and performance expectations; provide ongoing feedback; coach and counsel.
• Promote collaboration across leaders, groups, and own group.
• Serve as a technical consultant to teams, helping solve complex operational and maintenance challenges.
• Partner with leaders and cross-functional teams to support safe, reliable, and efficient operation of facilities and equipment.
• Coach and support team members, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Prioritize work and resources to meet business objectives and deliver results for APS customers.
