Job summary

Arizona Public Service (APS) is seeking a Supervisor Construction Maintenance to lead teams responsible for overhead and underground distribution construction and maintenance. You will coordinate field crews, ensure safe, reliable power delivery, and partner with service personnel to meet operational goals.

Ideal candidates have strong leadership, safety emphasis, and experience in utility operations, with willingness to travel and oversee night/weekend emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or related field and 3 years in design/engineering/construction/operations/maintenance of transmission and distribution facilities.
• Journeyman experience through a four-year electrical apprenticeship plus 3 years in relevant fields.
• Equivalent of 7 years education and work experience in design/engineering/construction/operations/maintenance of transmission and distribution facilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate line crews and servicemen to ensure fully staffed crews.
• Aim for minimal customer outages by applying proper operating and restoration procedures.
• Control construction costs by scheduling resources to maximize productivity.
• Resolve differences through open communication and interpretation of company policies and labor agreements.
• Maintain vehicle and equipment fleets with systematic maintenance programs.
• Promote safety awareness and reduce accidents via safety meetings and tailboard sessions.
• Support emergent restoration efforts and after-hours duty with union crews as needed.
• May participate in local community boards and events.
