Job Overview:Requirements & Qualifications:Valid Arizona driver’s license with a clean driving recordETA Fiber Technician certificationMinimum 2 years of fiber optic splicing and troubleshooting experienceAbility to lift up to 70 lbsMust be able to work on sites with stairs, ladders, bucket trucks, and uneven terrainMust be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat and coldMust be able to distinguish between different color fiber jacketsProficiency in Excel and Adobe AcrobatStrong communication and critical thinking skillsAbility to problem-solve and follow detailed instructionsKnowledge of NESC and applicable state/local safety regulationsTechnical Skills:Safe use of hand and small power toolsPrep and install fiber cables into various enclosure types (new and existing)Fusion splice fibers within customer specificationsRead and interpret splice details; complete accurate as-built documentationTroubleshoot down to the element level using traces and test resultsProficiency with EXFO 715 OTDR (or newer) and interpreting resultsPerform light level testing using EXFO or similar power meterExperience with loose tube, spider ribbon, and other common cable typesTroubleshoot back to and including ODNSuccessfully complete OLM activations and speed testsResponsibilities:Ensure complete commitment to quality, following industry and customer standardsAssist with field training of Fiber Tech I team membersEdit and update customer-required documentation (e.g., as-built docs)Provide accurate and clear invoicing data to leadershipCompany Overview:Talus Development is a full service utility contractor specializing in communications infrastructure including coax, fiber, voice, video and data.
