## Ops Fiber Technician II - Phoenix, AZApply: Phoenix, AZ: Full time: Posted Yesterday: JR102407**Job Overview:****Requirements & Qualifications:*** Valid Arizona driver’s license with a clean driving record* ETA Fiber Technician certification* Minimum 2 years of fiber optic splicing and troubleshooting experience* Ability to lift up to 70 lbs* Must be able to work on sites with stairs, ladders, bucket trucks, and uneven terrain* Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat and cold* Must be able to distinguish between different color fiber jackets* Proficiency in Excel and Adobe Acrobat* Strong communication and critical thinking skills* Ability to problem-solve and follow detailed instructions* Knowledge of NESC and applicable state/local safety regulations**Technical Skills:*** Safe use of hand and small power tools* Prep and install fiber cables into various enclosure types (new and existing)* Fusion splice fibers within customer specifications* Read and interpret splice details; complete accurate as-built documentation* Troubleshoot down to the element level using traces and test results* Proficiency with EXFO 715 OTDR (or newer) and interpreting results* Perform light level testing using EXFO or similar power meter* Experience with loose tube, spider ribbon, and other common cable types* Troubleshoot back to and including ODN* Successfully complete OLM activations and speed tests**Responsibilities:*** Ensure complete commitment to quality, following industry and customer standards* Assist with field training of Fiber Tech I team members* Edit and update customer-required documentation (e.g., as-built docs)* Provide accurate and clear invoicing data to leadership**Company Overview:**Talus Development is a full service utility contractor specializing in communications infrastructure including coax, fiber, voice, video and data.
