Job summary

Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers in Elizabethtown, KY is seeking a Surgical Coordinator to ensure the financial and surgical communication process is complete for patients undergoing procedures.

You will schedule surgery and pre-op education, coordinate pre-op appointments, verify insurance benefits, prepare cost summaries, counsel patients on finances, and assist with post-visit payments; the role supports the Ophthalmology department and reports to the Manager, Pre-Surgery Services.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in financial counseling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgery and pre-surgery education; coordinate with facilities.
• Schedule pre-op appointments with patient and/or caregiver.
• Check insurance benefits, prepare cost summaries and counsel patients regarding finances.
• Counsel patients for Physician Fee and Eye Surgery Center.
• Follow up on and collect surgery payments.
• Other duties as assigned.
