Job summary

Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers in Elizabethtown, KY, seeks a Surgical Coordinator to ensure seamless pre- and post-operative communications and patient financial discussions. The role supports ophthalmology services and interacts with multiple facilities to finalize payment timelines and patient education.

The position requires a high school diploma, reliability, and the ability to work beyond standard hours. Experience with insurance and financial counseling is preferred; strong Excel/Office

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Experience working with insurance is preferred.
• Experience in financial counseling is preferred.
• Ability to work over 40 hours to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgery and pre-surgery education for patients and coordinate with facilities.
• Schedule and coordinate pre-op appointments with patients or caregivers.
• Review charts for insurance benefits, prepare cost summaries and counsel patients on finances.
• Counsel patients regarding Physician Fee and Eye Surgery Center charges.
• Follow up on and collect surgery payments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
