Job summary

Fite Eye Center in Clinton Township, MI, is seeking a Surgery Coordinator to manage administrative and clinical support for scheduling ophthalmic procedures. You will coordinate with surgeons, facilities, anesthesia, and staff to optimize the surgical calendar and patient experience.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to travel to practice locations as needed. Prior ophthalmology scheduling and EHR experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel to all practice locations as necessary.
• Experience with EHR software is preferred, Nextech/ICP highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules ophthalmic surgeries (cataract, glaucoma, retina, etc.) based on surgeon availability and facility requirements.
• Coordinates pre-op testing and ensures equipment and supplies are ordered for procedures.
• Obtains pre-authorizations and verifies benefits for surgeries and related services.
• Communicates with patients to confirm dates, instructions, and post-op care; schedules follow-ups.
• Maintains accurate surgical documentation and supports HIPAA-compliant patient records.
