Job summary

Dupage Eye Associates, a multi-specialty ophthalmology practice in Downers Grove, IL, seeks a patient service representative to manage front desk duties, verify insurance, and handle appointments with a patient-focused approach.

The role requires knowledge of CPT/ICD10, strong communication, and the ability to multitask in a busy medical environment. Travel between locations may be required, with early mornings and weekends as needed for coverage.

Qualifications

• Insurance payor knowledge, CPT and ICD10 a must.
• Must be compassionate and can establish confidence and trust with patients.
• Must have the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure or stress.
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Create and maintain positive interpersonal relationships.
• Ability to perform as part of a team as well as work independently.
• One or more years’ experience working in a medical practice preferred.
• Knowledge of medical billing preferred.
• Knowledge of medical insurances preferred.
• Experience with NextGen, Microsoft, Clearwave preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and visitors in clinic operations.
• Verify insurance and manage patient check-in/check-out processes.
• Schedule appointments and set up reminder notifications.
• Collect copays and patient balances.
• Maintain accurate patient records and confidentiality.
• Answer phone calls with professional etiquette.
• Assist with front office inventory and mail handling.
