Job summary

EyeSouth Partners is seeking a Patient Access Representative to serve as the first point of contact for patients, referring offices, and pharmacies. You will help with inquiries, appointments, and medical information, upholding compassionate service and privacy standards.

You will schedule appointments across ophthalmology subspecialties, verify patient data, and coordinate with internal departments to ensure seamless care delivery.

Qualifications

• Prior medical experience is required.
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
• Triage experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or certification in healthcare administration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls from patients and address inquiries courteously and empathetically.
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments for ophthalmology subspecialties.
• Verify patient information and obtain medical data to create comprehensive records.
• Update electronic health records accurately and efficiently.
• Provide information about healthcare services, procedures, and insurance coverage to patients.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Collaborate with referring doctors and internal teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Document call interactions and transfer calls using a multi-line phone system.
