Brian Willoughby MD PC, a small boutique ophthalmology clinic in Cherry Creek, seeks a Back Office Medical Assistant to join a 1-doctor, 2-3-staff team. You will support clinical operations, assist with procedures, manage medical records, and help with scheduling and referrals.

The ideal candidate has strong EMR/HER skills, excellent multitasking and communication abilities, and a solid grounding in medical terminology and coding practices.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in Ophthalmology, plastics, dermatology, ENT, or cosmetic surgery preferred.
• Strong EMR/HER skills
• Excellent multitasking and communication abilities
• Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and coding practices is essential
• Familiarity with surgical medical office setting, Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery a plus
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and positive attitude

Aufgaben

• Patient intake, histories, and workups
• Assist with in-office procedures and patient flow
• Prep medical chart for provider
• Record patients' medical history, medications, allergies, vital statistics and information such as test results in medical records
• Coordinate surgical scheduling and pre/post-operative care. Triage post-surgical patients
• Ensure proper consent forms are obtained prior to preparing a patient for treatment
• Handle referrals, authorizations, and medical records
• Handle third party medical records request
• Contact medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for tests and/or admission
• Inventory and assess the need for instruments, supplies and equipment while keeping the room stocked
• Responsible for cleaning room and medical equipment
• Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards
• Collaborate with team members to enhance patient care quality
• Order office/medical supplies
• EMR proficient, preferred eCW experience
• Perform coding for medical records and billing purposes
