EverOak Dermatology and Aesthetics Center in Celina, TX, is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant for a true hybrid role integrating clinical and front-office duties. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in medical assisting, dermatology experience, and strong patient-service skills.

Responsibilities include assisting with dermatology visits, rooming patients, EMR workflows, insurance verifications, and front-desk tasks.

Responsabilités

• Room patients and prepare for dermatologic examinations and procedures.
• Assist dermatologist with dermatology visits, biopsies, excisions.
• Prepare procedure trays, rooms, supplies, and instruments.
• Handle specimen processing, lab and pathology workflows.
• Maintain EMR documentation and workflows.
• Process referrals, prior authorizations, and patient communications.
• Manage check-in/out and phone inquiries.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Open/close clinic and support admin needs.

This is a true hybrid position combining clinical Medical Assistant responsibilities with front-desk and administrative duties. Our Medical Assistants share clinical and front-office responsibilities based on the needs of the practice and work closely together to provide an excellent patient experience.

We are looking for someone who is dependable, professional, organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a small, team-oriented practice. Previous dermatology experience and a minimum of two years of Medical Assistant experience are required.

Responsibilities include:

• Rooming patients, obtaining histories, and preparing patients for dermatologic examinations and procedures
• Assisting the dermatologist with general dermatology visits, skin examinations, biopsies, excisions, and other medical and surgical procedures
• Preparing procedure trays, examination rooms, supplies, and instruments
• Assisting with specimen handling, laboratory and pathology workflows
• Clinical documentation and EMR workflows
• Prescriptions, prior authorizations, referrals, laboratory/pathology follow-up, and patient communications
• Cleaning, processing, and preparing surgical instruments
• Maintaining organized examination rooms, clinical supplies, and inventory
• Assisting with cosmetic and laser procedures after appropriate training
• Patient check-in and checkout
• Answering phones and scheduling appointments
• Processing referrals, faxes, and medical records
• Collecting copays and patient balances
• Insurance eligibility and benefit verification
• Assisting patients with general insurance and billing questions
• Performing clinic opening and closing responsibilities
• Supporting other clinical and administrative needs of the practice as needed

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience required
• Previous dermatology experience required
• Familiarity with medical front-desk responsibilities
• Understanding of common health insurance terminology, including copays, deductibles, coinsurance, eligibility, and in-network/out-of-network benefits
• Willingness and ability to learn and perform insurance eligibility and benefit verification
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable assisting with dermatologic procedures
• Comfortable performing both clinical and front-desk responsibilities
• Dependable, punctual, and able to consistently follow through on assigned responsibilities
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy clinical environment
• Team-oriented and willing to assist wherever needed

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Modernizing Medicine / ModMed EMA
• Experience assisting with dermatologic biopsies and excisions
• Experience with pathology tracking, referrals, and prior authorizations
• Experience verifying insurance eligibility and benefits
• CMA/RMA certification
• Bilingual English/Spanish

Schedule:

Full-time, approximately 32–40 hours per week. Standard clinic hours are generally Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Reliable availability during clinic hours is required. Employees assigned opening responsibilities must be available to arrive before the first scheduled patient so the clinic is prepared to begin seeing patients on time. Schedule may vary based on patient volume and practice needs.

Compensation:

$20.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on dermatology experience, qualifications, and clinical/front-office skills.
