Job summary

Eye Physicians of Central Florida, a Division of Florida Pediatric Associates, seeks a Medical Call Center Representative to be the first contact for patients, handling inbound/outbound calls, scheduling appointments, and routing requests. You will document patient needs and ensure accurate communication among patients, providers, and staff.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with at least two years at a medical front desk, strong scheduling and insurance verification skills, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required. Prior front desk/medical admin experience preferred.
• Experience with appointment scheduling and medical front-office operations required.
• Strong communication, data entry, and patient registration competencies.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls, provide information, and route to the appropriate department.
• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with referring physicians.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations prior to visits.
• Manage patient check-out, schedule follow-ups and tests, and remind patients of upcoming visits.
• Process payments including co-pays, deductibles, and other balances.
• Coordinate surgery scheduling with hospitals and centers, including pre/post-operative steps.
• Maintain patient records in the EMR system and ensure accurate demographics and contact details.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to adjust scheduling as needed and communicate changes promptly.
