Job summary

Target Optical in Appleton, WI is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support eye exams, manage patient records, and ensure a seamless patient experience throughout the visit.

You will perform preliminary evaluations, assist with tests such as OCT, biometry and retinal imaging, and maintain a clean, organized exam area while upholding HIPAA and clinic standards.

This full‑time role requires flexibility to work evenings or weekends when needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year of strong customer service skills.
• Strong communicator and listener.
• Problem solving ability.
• Organization skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assess priorities and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to use exam software, ophthalmic equipment and POS tech.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and eye exams, including managing patient records and supporting patient flow.
• Perform preliminary evaluations including patient histories, vision tests, refractions, and dilations where appropriate.
• Perform tests such as OCT, biometry, topography and retinal imaging.
• Explain measurements to patients and answer questions.
• Maintain organized patient records and HIPAA compliance.
• Support scheduling and use of computer systems.
• Maintain a safe, clean exam environment and equipment.
